In this presentation we describe the recent success of using a drone and machine learning algorithm to recover an observed meteorite fall. The drone surveys the fall area in sections while the searching party takes images of previously recovered meteorites in local back-grounds to help train the neural network. The machine learning algorithm then scan through the images identifying meteorite candidates for team members to review. We also provide an update on the Desert Fireball Network’s methodology for predicting meteorite fall location.
